Your government and your biggest customer now want the same thing

E-invoicing mandates, trading partner data demands, and what supply chain teams need to do about both

Overview

Two groups are now shaping the rules for your supply chain: governments and your biggest customer.

France’s e-Invoicing mandate is live, with more countries introducing similar requirements across Europe and beyond—requirements that can affect North American companies doing business in those markets.

Meanwhile, across the US, Canada, and other regions, large buyers are setting their own requirements for shipment data, advance shipping notices (ASNs), and supplier performance and imposing deductions when those requirements are not met.

Although these demands come from different directions, they depend on the same underlying capability: exchanging accurate, structured, and machine-readable data with every trading partner, every time.

This means compliance is no longer simply a finance responsibility. It is a supply chain resilience issue. When requirements are not met, the consequences can include operational disruption, deductions, delayed payments, and costly rework. Manual processes cannot scale with growing complexity, and compliance cannot be managed effectively within a single function. Procurement, operations, finance and IT must work from the same trusted data.

Join Daniel Stanton, known to millions as Mr. Supply Chain—alongside OpenText specialists from the US and Europe for a candid, unscripted conversation. They will explore what emerging mandates require, what major buyers are already enforcing, where organizations commonly run into problems, and how businesses are deciding whether to build these capabilities internally or work with an experienced partner. Have questions? Bring them along for an interactive Q&A throughout the session.

What you will learn

  • Why compliance has evolved from a finance filing exercise into a supply chain resilience priority.
  • What governments and large buyers are demanding, and the shared data capability behind both sets of requirements.
  • What can go wrong when compliance depends on manual processes or a single function, and the options organizations have for moving forward.
