Major Mandisa Mfeka made history as the first Black female combat pilot in the South African Air Force. With over 14 years of aviation experience, she has flown advanced combat aircraft, led prestigious flypasts—including at President Cyril Ramaphosa’s inauguration—and currently serves at Air Force Command Headquarters as an Airshow Planner.

Beyond the cockpit, Major Mfeka is a passionate advocate for youth empowerment and gender equity in STEAM fields, volunteering with the Girls Fly Programme in Africa. Her accolades include the Charlotte Mannya Maxeke Award for Excellence in Aviation and recognition as a national role model.
